The Southern Chef: Your Destination for Authentic Southern Flavors and BBQ Delights

Came in for a truck rest for the night to grab something to eat. I don’t like to eat much fast food so whenever I get a chance to grab a cooked meal that’s what I do. Southern chef was the perfect stop. Nipen prepared a great Cob salad and fried me up some Swai fish that hit the spot! I appreciate the service Nipen

My family and I eat breakfast from the Southern Chef every time we are in Jonesboro! Truly southern style breakfast, but be warned - portions are large! :)

Service was good, food was good. Atmosphere was terrible. I think their air conditioning is broken. It was so hot and since they serve hot food, it was making the ambient temperature even hotter. There is a dining area and you go up to the hot food counter, pick out your sides, take it to-go or dine in but you have to step to the convenience store counter to pay and get your drink. The dining area is spacious and I would assume that it would be cool, if the air worked. Typical Southern fare, green beans were delicious, fish was good, chicken tenders were ok. You can also get fuel here and other convenience store items since it is part of a convenience store/gas station.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Southern Chef #2 is a hidden gem in Jonesboro! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with true Southern hospitality. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the food? Absolutely incredible. I had the chicken and dressing with sweet potatoes and greens—everything was seasoned to perfection and tasted homemade in the best way possible. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and you can tell the folks in the kitchen care about every plate they serve. Service was fast and friendly, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

This place has so many good things about it going on. The best fuel mpg of the city. I had been getting around 380 to a tank fill up here and I got 446 to the tank. The food is always on point and would recommend to everyone. Late night early morning you can't beat their food. There is always sports on the TV while you eat just a general good experience.

I tried their buffalo and jerk wings. The wings were meaty and fried pretty well. But that was kind of it. The sauces were decent. I also had catfish. They were ok as well. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Stopped at this place for breakfast and was honestly surprised by the offerings. They had most of the items you would expect to find at a southern eatery during breakfast hours. Bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and more. The place was busy but the service was still fast and I did not have to wait long. The food was not bad either. There is seating inside, if you want to eat there but I got mine to go. Good place to get some grub.

I've never had near-fine-dining in a gas station before, but there's a first time for everything! The people were SO NICE and helpful, and the food was excellent! They have everything from crispitos and pizza sticks, to fajitas with street corn casserole. Prices are very reasonable!

Great bbq. Thats all I've had there. Kitchen looks clean. I love getting the lunch special.

I like this place , been there 3 or 4 times , always good always friendly, I will be back . To be honest , more friendly than the one on MLK by the Exxon
